Life Before Thomas Jefferson
I am beginning my first school year as teacher; I have prior experience in the high school setting in that I was a paraprofessional for 12 years for DPS. I started out as the Pass Room Supervisor at Kennedy High School, where I spent 9 years in that role. More currently, I was a Special Needs Paraprofessional here at Thomas Jefferson High School for the past 3 years. Personally, I am a graduate of Denver Public Schools, concluding my high school career with a diploma from Kennedy High School. After high school, I accepted a full-ride scholarship to play football at New Mexico State University where I was a 3-year starter at quarterback. After completing my senior year at NMSU, I moved back to Denver to finish my degree at Metro State University of Denver, where I received a degree in Behavioral Science and a minor in Political Science. I am a football and track coach; although I am currently taking a break from coaching, I have coached track and football for 11 years, and plan to continue my career in coaching next season.
